* Sleep Disorders *

Millions of people around the world suffer from them, with hundreds of causes including stress, trauma, and even improper diet. Whatever the reason or cause, one thing is for sure... it sucks to suffer from a sleep disorder.

Personally, whenever I deal with a lot of stress in my life, I end up sleep-walking and have even ended up driving while asleep (literally sleep-walking to the car and going for a drive, getting out, and crawling back into bed). It's a scary feeling once you realize what you have done while sleeping, and even scarier to think about what you don't know you have done while sleeping. Lately, I have been suffering from lack of sleep, often going to bed exhausted only to wake up a couple hours later unable to sleep any longer. I've tried a lot of 'cures' in the past month, changing my diet, drinking warm milk, even having a couple shots of whiskey, all to no avail. I can't take any prescriptions like Ambien because regular people often suffer from sleep-walking and driving while asleep as a side effect; the doctors are afraid taking the prescriptions will make me sleep-walk and 'sleep-drive' worse than it normally is. I'm basically stuck, with no real options... and frankly it sucks.

Many people are losing sleep because of the economy, job loss, or foreclosure concerns... I am losing sleep because I have a sleep disorder. Prescriptions will only bring out worse problems for me, and trying out different 'cures' is proving fruitless. On the plus side though, I have gotten a lot of work done both online and offline, so it isn't all bad; it does still suck though.
