What happens when you put a variety show into a talk show format and add a subtle and blunt host? You get Talk Show With Spike Feresten, a genuinely funny late night talk show that tackles all levels of comedy like a 300lb linebacker.

 

 

Talk Show With Spike Feresten aired in 2006 on Fox, and I immediately became hooked. While other talk shows 'danced' around controversial topics, Spike brought them to the forefront and made them both funny and insightful. Talk Show With Spike Feresten, like other talk shows, has many regular 'features'. The more notable ones are " Lil' Bill O'Reilly" (which was leaked on various sites before it even aired on television and proved hugely popular), "Comedy For Stoners" (which if you aren't stoned, you probably won't understand), and "Idiot Paparazzi" (where Spike and a few other paparazzi run around and take pictures of regular people who look like famous people). Talk Show With Spike Feresten also features interviews with various stars, random comedy sketches, and live musical performances. This last airing of Talk Show, Spike announced his latest acquisition... http://www.badbabygifts.com , which challenges you to submit your worst baby gift. On Talk Show, when he went to display the hummels that he considered 'the worst baby gift ever', he managed to 'alter' one of them on accident... never a dull moment on this show (though there have been quite a few awkward moments that Spike has turned into comedic gold).

 

 

When you get a chance, I highly recommend checking out Talk Show With Spike Feresten, which airs Saturday late night on Fox. Talk Show just got the go ahead to move from a half-hour to a hour long attack on your funny bone.
